Cleopatra V11

Cleopatra V11

Cleopatra was born 69 B.C, in Alexandria, Egypt. Cleopatra had 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Once Cleopatra’s father, Ptomely X11, died, she and her brother, Ptomely X111, inherited the throne. At this time Cleopatra was about 18 years old and her brother was about 12.

She was smart, and had knowledge in literature, math, astronomy, and medicine. She knew how to ride a horse.

Once Cleopatra became Queen, she wanted to take over. She married her brother but he was only co-ruler and he would usually stand in the back while Cleopatra ruled. She worked hard to solve the problems with the Roman Empire. She gave them Egyptian Soldiers to fight in their wars.

Her involvement with the Romans got her in trouble with the Egyptian people. In 48 BC she was stripped of her throne and was exiled to Syria. Cleopatra was very disappointed about this and was very determined to get back her throne.

Then, Cleopatra met Julius Caesar and it was love at first sight. Her husband (her brother) was furious once he noticed this then her husband stormed out yelling “YOU HAVE BETRAYED ME!!!” Then, Caesar had him thrown in jail. Cleopatra then gave birth a little later to a baby boy named Caersion named after his father.

Caesar proclaimed Cleopatra queen of Egypt and to make her brother happy, Caesar gave him the island of Creta. Her brother was not happy and started a war with Cleopatra and Caesar. PtomelyX111 was killed in a battle.

Caesar and Cleopatra have a happy life in Egypt. They decide to visit Roman but the roman people are not happy with Caesar’s rule and they don’t like Cleopatra. Caesar is killed during a meeting in the Senate. A fight starts on who is the next ruler of Roman.

Caesar’s adopted son, Octavianos, and Anthony fight to become the rulers. Cleopatra falls in love with Anthony who tries to protect her from enemies. She returns to Egypt and Anthony goes off to war. Anthony loses the war and Cleopatra commits suicide to avoid living as a captive of Octavianos. Her son is also killed on his way to Egypt.
